UNBOUND ARMY: It looks like the weather will be perfect. All the stations are set up for the WOD, the RC boats and super soakers are sitting out by the lake, and my little minions Christina and Laurrin have “redistributed” some wooden pallets for the fire pit. IT IS ON! Remember that the WOD will be in a format where 4 athletes at a time will throw down. Because of that, all 4 will have to do the same weight on the bar, and the same height box jump. There’s no time to change during this lightning fast WOD. Which means we will be scaling it down if some people want lighter weights, or don’t want to jump on a 20″ box on the side of a hill (FUN!). If you come to the lake, you will NOT be forced to do the WOD. But I believe when you see how fun it is, you’ll want to jump in. So please don’t hesitate to bring friends or spouses that are not CrossFitters. Maybe this might even convince non-WODers to try it out. And it will definitely encourage you athletes who are starting to get good to like the rush of applause you get during competitions. Remember our CrossFit Credo: We root just as loud for the last to finish as the first. Maybe louder. Address: 2230 Kennedy Lagoon Court in Coupeville IMMEDIATELY past the lake on Madrona, look to your right for the “ELI” sign, and turn down the tree covered driveway. Follow the “ELI” signs to my house. Make sure not to park along the running route. It should be obvious where that is. If you have trouble finding the place, call or text at 509 302 8000 It’s gonna be AWESOME! -Coach Eli
The Bonfire WOD Weather forecast says Sunday will be sunny and 70 degrees. That will make it a perfect day. Bring a windbreaker anyway, for the later afternoon and the lake winds. You can also bring a lawn chair or an inflatable raft to float on the lake if you’d like. This is a CASUAL potluck. If you don’t bring any food, no one is going to get on your case. If you don’t bring beer, then I have plenty of water. If you just come for the WOD, and to cheer for some athletes, you can just bring yourself. But you won’t want to leave… DETAILS: 2230 Kennedy Lagoon Court in Coupeville Look for “ELI” sign immediately at the end of the lake on Madrona, and turn right, following signs.
